Confirm this applies before you start
- Your practice, not athena, submits claims and works denials
- You can grant a biller role-based access under a BAA
- You want behavioral health rules applied before claims go out
What we do in that setup
- Review charges for time-based codes, modifiers, and place of service
- Work denials and aged insurance balances
- Track authorizations that athena workflows do not close on their own
- Credential new clinicians so rendering providers are linked before the first claim
What we will not do
We will not ask you to break an athena billing agreement, export the whole chart to another EHR, or run a shadow billing process beside a biller you are already paying to own the book. If athena bills for you, the useful conversation is credentialing or a revenue audit of what that book is producing, not a second biller.
