Cigna and Evernorth credentialing for behavioral health

Cigna behavioral health enrollment often runs through Evernorth, and the application is not the same packet as Aetna, BCBS, or Optum. This page is only that payer. The full credentialing service and the other payer pages are separate.

What we prepare

  • Confirm whether your region uses Evernorth Behavioral Health for the panel you need
  • CAQH readiness check before the application goes in
  • Individual, group, and location adds
  • Responses to document requests on a set follow-up schedule
  • Handoff of the payer IDs to billing after approval

What makes Cigna different from the other payer pages

Aetna, BCBS, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and Carelon each have their own portal, panel status, and document list. Sending one generic application to all of them is how packets stall. Here the work is the Cigna/Evernorth path only.

Frequently asked questions

Is Evernorth the same application as Cigna?+

For many behavioral health panels, Evernorth administers the network even when the member card says Cigna. We use the path that matches your specialty and state, and we say which one it is before anything is submitted.

What if the panel is closed?+

We check status before you pay for a doomed application when the plan will tell us. Closed panels, waitlists, and alternate products are reported back instead of being filed anyway.
